The Record Company’s raw and righteous rock ‘n’ roll is ideal for a world that desperately needs to scream and shout. The Los Angeles-based trio – Chris Vos (guitar, lead vocals, harmonica), Alex Stiff (bass, guitar, vocals) and Marc Cazorla (drums, piano, vocals) – unleashed its Concord Records debut album, Give It Back to You, on February 12, 2016 and has been nominated for a GRAMMY Award in the category of Best Contemporary Blues Album. Our conversation covers many different spectrums of life. They started as a 3 piece band. Within 3 years of playing, they've reached levels most never achieve. From Red Rocks opening gigs, to national tours with other young greats like Marcus King Band and Trombone Shorty. This trio is seriously bound for greatness and fans are loving their blues always dressed in black. Much love to Chris Vos and The Record Company for being super chill while crushing at High Sierra Music Festival for the second straight year.
The blues will never die. 2016 was the first time I covered The Record Company at High Sierra. Their rock and roll angry blues was home to my ears. A tight three piece band with raging riffs screaming off a steel slide. Chris sat down with us to discuss the things that make High Sierra Music Festival so special and the whirlwind ride the band has been on the past 6 years.
