Hangtown Music Festival is one of my favorite events every year. It feels so much like High Sierra. Same great music, same great staff, and lovely weather. Thursday night was packed with greats like Dead Winter Carpenters, TAUK, and Railroad Earth. 1 am soon arrived and TAUK took the stage. Their music blending funk, jazz, hip hop, rock, and fusion. A perfect fit for a dance crowd ready to get their weekend off to a great start.

Keyboard player AC and bass player Charlie joined us for an interview Friday afternoon. They were getting ready to play their second show at the Gallows Stage. We spoke about how the instrumental band formed and got their name TAUK. Their first two ever west coast festivals were High Sierra and Hangtown. Their sound allows the listener to create their own narrative and grow with the music naturally. Like our homies Lettuce, TAUK is quickly gaining a name for themselves all over the country as a solid addition to any music festival.
